The Telegram channel allows chatbots and agents to chat with customers via Telegram within private conversations. This guide outlines the steps to deploy on Telegram.

Creating a Telegram bot

Before anything, you'll have to follow the steps to create a bot on Telegram. These are simple steps that you'll take within Telegram itself and the setup won't take more than 5 minutes.

Make sure to set /setjoingroups to "disabled" within Telegram after creating your Telegram bot and before moving to connecting Yola:

Save the token you received from BotFather as you'll need to fill it in on Yola's Telegram app.

Creating and enabling the Telegram app on Yola

Navigate to the Chatbots tab and click on Channels. To create a new channel, click on + Create Channel.

A new window will open. Select Telegram, add a name for the channel, and select the default language.

Once the new channel is created, click on the channel you just created, insert the Telegram token and save. The chatbot will be immediatelly deployed to Telegram and you can start testing right away.
